Green is the whole game. The meter cycles constantly, so the skill is not clicking fast, it is clicking when the band reads green. Rushing straight off a previous throw is where most early runs get wasted.
Take bounce before raw speed. Bounce upgrades pay for themselves once you start clearing a hoop and want the ball to carry past it, while speed alone just gets you to the next rim sooner.
Aim at the next rim, not the biggest number. Sinking a hoop at a milestone distance is what unlocks the next character, so a slightly shorter throw that scores can beat a longer one that misses.
